COVINGTON, La.—March 1, 2017—GEO Reentry Services will honor 36 graduates of the Covington Day Reporting Center, an intensive reentry program that opened in July 2015 and provides evidence-based treatment and training to high risk probationers and parolees released to community supervision.

Covington-area officials, families, community corrections officials, graduates and their families, as well as past alumni will attend.
The DRC, located at 19374 North 3rd St., opened after GEO Reentry was selected by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections to open several centers in the state, including in Shreveport and Baton Rouge.
Participants report to the program for up to 120 days, plus aftercare, and receive the ongoing treatment needed to help break cycles of criminal behavior. Classes include:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy
- Employment readiness and career development
- Community Connections, including links to community service providers
- Adult Basic Education and GED prep resources and referrals
- Life skills and parenting classes
- Anger management
- Drug and alcohol classes
