We’re expanding our services in Pennsylvania after being selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections to open nine parolee reentry centers throughout the state—and we couldn’t be more excited to support Pennsylvania in their initiative to reduce recidivism, lower incarceration costs and enhance public safety!
The centers will open in Allentown, Chambersburg, Ebensburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Wilkes-Barre and York. Because we already run day reporting centers for probationers in Ebensburg, Chambersburg, and Wilkes-Barre, parolees will report to those existing DRCs.
The GEO Reentry Service Centers will offer day reporting, cognitive behavioral therapy and employment-readiness training services. The centers in Chambersburg and Wilkes-Barre will also offer licensed alcohol abuse-related services.
The openings are part of an initiative by the Pennsylvania DOC and the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole to expand programs focused on addressing individuals’ risk factors.
We’re proud of our centers because we offer evidence-based programming designed to rehabilitate offenders and successfully prepare them for life after prison, while maintaining public safety. We target employment or full-time school enrollment upon program completion and alter offenders’ attitudes and behavior through treatment and training. We also save taxpayers’ money through lower incarceration costs.
We’re thrilled to help keep Pennsylvania strong in the community.
