California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation chooses GEO Reentry to open Santa Clara Day Reporting Center

CAMPBELL —The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and its Division of Adult Parole Operations has selected GEO Reentry Services to manage a new day reporting center which offers non-residential reentry programming and services to parolees returning to the community after incarceration. The Santa Clara Day Reporting Center, located at 100 E. Hamilton Ave. in Campbell, opened for virtual services in May and in-person services in June.

The program has a capacity of 115 individuals at one time. The DRC provides a range of services, including cognitive behavioral treatment designed to change criminal thinking, substance use disorder treatment, vocational and educational services, job readiness and employment services, anger management, parenting classes, life skills training and more. The center employs 17 staff members.

Programming at the DRC focuses on effecting behavioral change through evidence-based practices that address each participant’s individual risks and needs as determined by an initial assessment. GEO Reentry case managers work with participants to focus on their individualized behavior change plan as they progress through each phase of the program. In addition to delivering treatment and training services, the Santa Clara DRC also connects parolees to helpful community resources that lend stability to their lives and support their reintegration into society as productive citizens. Participating parolees receive referrals to local services related to housing, employment, health care, family services, mental health, domestic violence and legal advocacy.

The CDCR refers parolees to the center upon release, and priority is given to those who are within their first year of release and have demonstrated a moderate-to-high risk of reoffending.

GEO Reentry operates more than a dozen non-residential and residential reentry programs in California for state and county officials.
